FOOD AND WINE

THE VINEYARDS:Rows of prized grape vines criss-cross the hilly countryside of this province. After the harvest, experienced viticulturists transform the grapes into excellent wines. Just like a monument or a traditional folkloristic rite, grapevines and wine are part of the heritage of a place. This certainly holds true in the province of Teramo where together with the DOC Montepulciano and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo wines, another prized wine, typical of the Val Valbrata, is produced. The wine is called Controguerra and it has been a DOC wine since 1996.

THE TYPICAL PRODUCTS:With its rich history and traditions, this area boasts many local products made using genuine ingredients and the time honored traditions of farmers and livestock farmers who combine their vast experience with the most modern techniques. This is why these typical products of the province of Teramo, fruit of traditional farming and a world that is now disappearing, are so unique and sought after.
